Kerala Express train takes life; four sanitation workers die in Shoranur; one body recovered from river

SHORNUR: Four persons were killed when a train hit them while they were walking over a railway bridge. The incident took place at Shoranur in Palakkad this afternoon. The deceased have been identified as Valli, Rani and two others named Lakshman, contract workers from Tamil Nadu. The people who died were sanitation workers.

The accident took place when they were collecting garbage from the railway track. They were walking over the bridge crossing Bharathapuzha when the Kerala Express train was passing by. Three people were hit by a train and one fell into the river. In a search conducted subsequently, the body of the person who fell into the river was recovered.
