WASHINGTON DC: Donald Trump has secured a stunning victory in the US presidential election. Trump has won 280 electoral votes, well above the 270 threshold needed to win the presidency.
Notably, this is going to be only the second instance of a president serving two non-consecutive terms in the White House. This is only the second instance and the first in 127 years of a leader winning the presidency after losing once.
Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, who presented a strong challenge to Trump, managed to secure only 214 electoral votes. After securing victory, Trump addressed his supporters, calling his win a historic triumph. He promised to lead America into a golden era. Meanwhile, Kamala will address her supporters only tomorrow.
Donald Trump secured the lead in states such as Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wyoming and Kansas. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris came first in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
