SHIMLA: A CID probe has been ordered after the samosas and cakes meant for Himachal Pradesh chief minister were served to his security staff. The probe was announced on October 21. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu arrived at the CID headquarters to attend a public programme. Samosas and cakes were ordered to serve for him.
However, the items were not served for him and instead were served for his security staff. The CID ordered an investigation stating that this is part of a specific anti-government act. Three boxes of samosas were brought for the chief minister. This is the information provided by the deputy SP who investigated the incident. An officer of IG rank asked a sub inspector to order samosas for the chief minister. The SI in turn asked an assistant sub inspector (ASI) and a head constable to order the item.
The ASI and the constable picked the items from the hotel arranged and informed the sub inspector. The cops said that when they asked the tourism department whether the boxes were to be served to the chief minister, they said they were not included in the menu. These officers then handed over the samosa to a woman sub inspector. She without asking any senior officer sent the items to the mechanical transport section. Only a sub inspector knew that the samosa was meant for the chief minister. It was this communication problem that led to the investigation.
Meantime, the opposition BJP has criticized the government. The BJP leaders said the government is not concerned about the development of the state and their concern is the chief minister’s samosa.
