SRINAGAR: The Indian army has surrounded two terrorists responsible for the murder of two village defence guards, in Kashmir. The mission is now ongoing in Kishtwar district of Kashmir. It is learned that four terrorists are inside the premises circled by the army. Three jawans of the paratroop were injured in the exchange of fire with the militants, the army said.

On November 8, two villagers from Kishtwar were abducted and killed by terrorists. They were members of the Village Defense Group (VDG). A wing of the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror group claimed responsibility for the attack. The same terrorists are now trapped and are going through their final hours. This is the third encounter in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 24 hours.

There was an encounter between security forces and terrorists in the Zabarwan forests of Srinagar this morning. The army killed a terrorist in an encounter in Baramulla yesterday. On November 2, security forces killed three terrorists, including Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Usman Lashkari, in two separate counter-terrorism operations in Kashmir.

Two policemen and two CRPF jawans were injured in the encounter. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi reviewed the prevailing security situation in Katwa district minding the surge in militancy.
