Alyse Ogletree, a native of Texas in the US, has broken her own Guinness World Record for donating breast milk. She donated 2,645.58 litres of breast milk. 36-year-old Alyse Ogletree broke her own record of 1,569.79 litres which she set in 2014.
According to the Mother's Milk Bank in North Texas, one litre of breast milk can save the lives of 11 premature babies. It is estimated that Alyse's breastmilk may have been fed to more than 3.5 lakh babies.
“I have a big heart, but at the end of the day, I’m not made of money and I can’t give away money to good causes over and over because I have a family to support for. But “donating milk was a way I could give back," Alyse Ogletree said in an interview published on Guinness World Records’ website.
Alyse Ogletree has been donating breast milk ever since she gave birth to her son, Kyle. Her first son was born in 2010 and is now 14 years old. Alyse was instructed to donate by a nurse after it was discovered that she was producing more breast milk than usual. After Kyle, Alice gave birth to two more children, Kage, 12, and Kory, 7. She continued to donate breast milk after their births. Alice is a mother to four children including one surrogate kid.
