Fall from grace for Samson; Malayali batsman dismissed for duck in second T20

GQEBERHA: Sanju Samson, the Kerala batsman who was on cloud nine after bashing consecutive tons’ in T20 cricket, was dismissed for a duck on Sunday. In the second match of the series against South Africa, the hard-hitting Kerala batsmen returned to the pavilion after facing just three balls and scoring zilch.

Marco Jansen’s delivery toppled the leg stump wicket. It was a disappointment for fans as they expected Sanju's batting fireworks to continue. The Indian wicketkeeper scored 107 runs off 50 balls in the first match in Durban. The star's performance in the first Twenty20 match at Kingsmead on Friday included ten sixes and seven fours.


In Durban, the player set the record, becoming the first Indian player to score two consecutive centuries in Twenty20 internationals. He was also awarded the Player of the Match award.
