PATHANAMTHITTA: The incident of Palakkad UDF candidate Rahul Mamkootathil's election campaign video surfacing on Pathanamthitta CPM's Facebook page is not hacking. It is clear that the video was uploaded by one of the admins of the page. The admin panel was soon reshuffled by the district committee. Rahul Mamkootathil’s promotional video with the headline ‘Palakkad Enna Snehavismayam’ (Palakkad, a wonder of love) appeared on the page, hinting in the name of CPM Pathanamthitta leadership.
CPM Pathanamthitta district secretary K P Udayabhanu responded that the incident is hacking. Meantime, Rahul Mamkootahil opined that it was not hacking but the support given to him by the CPM workers. Udayabhanu had informed that he would lodge a complaint with the police citing hacking. However, till now the district leadership has not complained to the police.
The CPM state leadership sought an explanation from the district committee over the incident. Meantime, BJP state president K Surendran said the incident is part of the CPM-Congress deal and the people of Palakkad will recognize it.
