Actor Joju George is currently basking in on the success of his directorial debut 'Pani'. The film, a gangster thriller, is doing well in theatres across Kerala. However, Joju recently found himself at the centre of controversy following his reaction to a negative review of the film. This is not the first time Joju has been embroiled in a controversy.
A few years ago, the police had registered a case against Joju in connection with an off-road driving event held in Vagamon. Joju has now opened up about the changes that happened in his life following that incident.
Joju's words
"I love going off-road. I have off-road vehicles and I love driving them through forest regions with my friends. One day, while I was shooting for the film 'Iratta', some of my friends came to me and told me that an off-road race was going to happen in the region. They asked me if I could inaugurate the event.
I love off-road driving. I learnt that the organisers were conducting the race to raise funds for the wedding of their deceased friend's daughter. On hearing that I became fond of that group. I also gave them a donation of Rs 25,000. When they asked me to inaugurate the event, I inaugurated it by driving my off-road vehicle. However, soon after the photos and videos of the event surfaced on social media, the police registered 4 cases against me. Those cases are still in the court.
I get involved in some kind of controversies whenever I go for such programs. Thus, I stopped going to inaugurations after that program. I am now staying away from ads, public functions and media programs. It is an area that I can't handle. I even deleted my Instagram account which had over 1 million followers," Joju said.
