‘March for double voting should be held at govt office, all controversies will turn positives in polls’

PALAKKAD: The DYFI should march to the government office for double votes, said UDF candidate Rahul Mamkootathil in Palakkad while talking to the media as the open election campaign for the Palakkad by-election is about to end today. Rahul also clarified that the secular front will get a good victory in the election.

‘All the recent controversies will positively affect the election. The trolley bag controversy turned serious against me. It has been ten days since that incident. Not even an FIR has been registered in it. Not challenging the people. The UDF will get a genuine victory this time. The DYFI should march to the government office for double votes. We have marched twice in this regard,' said Rahul.

The open election campaign for the polls, which has been going on for the past one month, will end with jamboree at 6 pm today. The road show of the three front candidates will begin at noon. All demonstrations will conclude in the Palakkad stadium area. Rahul Mamkootatil's road show will start at 2 pm from Olavakkode. LDF candidate Dr P Sarin's road show will start at 4 pm from the CPM district committee office and BJP candidate C Krishnakumar's road show will start from Melamuri junction.

Protest over double votes
The Left Front will march to the Collectorate at 10 am today demanding action against double votes in Palakkad. There are 2700 double votes in Palakkad and demand to remove them. The agitation will be held pointing the votes of BJP district president Haridasan and others. The Left Front is also demanding action against the culprits.
