Advertisement endorsing Sarin appears on Muslim mouthpiece; LDF turning tables in Palakkad

PALAKKAD: With just one day remaining for the Palakkad by-polls, LDF launched an attack targeting UDF in the form of a newspaper advertisement which has now left the political cauldron burning in Kerala. LDF targeted turncoat Sandeep Varier, in the advertisement, to fire shots at UDF. The advertisement comes with a huge headline ‘Sarin Tharangam’ meaning ‘Sarin wave’; a flashy endorsement to the LDF candidate in Palakkad.

The advertisement has been published in Sunni Kanthapuram section mouthpiece ‘Siraj’ and Samastha mouthpiece ‘Suprabhatam’. Interestingly, no such advertisements appeared in the CPM mouthpiece ‘Deshabhimani’.

The ad includes references to old Facebook posts shared by Sandeep Varier on the Kashmir issue, a picture of him wearing RSS uniform, a call for the massacre of Kashmiri Muslims, a post about implementing CAA in Kerala, and Gandhi's assassination.

The advertisement admonished Congress for showing the door to a secularist like Sarin while inducting a vile 'communal bigot' like Sandeep Varier. Both newspapers placed the advertisement on the front page in a news-style format. Congress alleged the whole move to be BJP’s handiwork to split Muslim votes in Palakkad. MP Shafi Parambil while responding on the issue, said CPM was digging its own grave and is not yet fully aware of the Sangh gameplan.
