DUBAI: Several Indians in Dubai were disappointed on August 15th as the Indian flag was not displayed on the Burj Khalifa, world's tallest building. Many had gathered around the building hoping that the Indian flag would be displayed as part of the Independence day celebrations.

Burj Khalifa usually displays the national flags of countries on their respective Independence days. It has also displayed the Indian flag in the previous years. However, authorities were unable to display the Indian flag this Independence day as there was some technical issue in the building, said Navdeep Singh Suri, the Indian ambassador to the UAE. Suri stated that he came to know about the technical issue through his friends in Emaar. He conveyed this message through his official Twitter page
