Next year, passenger cars in India will get state-of-the-art technology such as 5G machine-to-machine connectivity, on-device gen AI and cloud connectivity. This will provide the necessary support to the drivers. These technologies may be available as basic facilities in cars priced at Rs 20 lakh or above.

With the advent of this technology, customers will be able to use communication apps of audio/video conferencing, OTT entertainment apps, music streaming, podcasts, online shopping, vehicle maintenance and services while driving.

As many as 22 automobile manufacturers manufacture around 50 passenger vehicles annually in India. India will be the number one country in the global 5G machine-to-machine market in the next few years, the report said.
