NEW DELHI: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was Thursday sworn in as Wayanad MP. She took the oath with the Constitution in her hand. Congress leaders received her with great joy. Priyanka, who won the Wayanad seat with a very good margin of 4,10, 931 votes, reached the Parliament wearing a Kasaavu sari. She is the lone woman MP from Kerala. She was accompanied by her mother Sonia Gandhi, brother Rahul Gandhi and her husband Robert Vadra, to the Parliament.
Other Congress MPs said Priyanka's presence will be more beneficial for the Congress's future struggle. Priyanka had earlier said that her main agenda is the rehabilitation of Wayanad and that she will move forward for it. After taking oath, she thanked Wayanad for embracing her. Priyanka had also said that a medical college will be made a reality in Wayanad. She said that she will solve the problems faced by the farmers there.
Meantime, the House has been adjourned till 12 noon following the opposition protest. Priyanka Gandhi also attended the protests.
