Young man miraculously escapes after being run over by bus

IDUKKI: A young man narrowly escaped with minor injuries after a private bus ran over him in Kattappana bus stand. The incident, captured on CCTV, occurred at around 6:30 am yesterday and has left the community stunned.

The victim, identified as Vishnu, a native of Kumily, was sitting at the bus stand engrossed in his phone when the accident occurred. The private bus, named Diyamol, initially moved backward but unexpectedly lurched forward, trapping Vishnu's body beneath it.

The dramatic footage shows the bus suddenly pulling back after running over Vishnu, as locals rushed to his aid. Fortunately, Vishnu sustained only minor injuries to his leg and was immediately admitted to a nearby hospital by the locals.

According to the bus staff, the accident was caused by a technical malfunction. They claimed that the vehicle's forward gear unexpectedly engaged while the bus was being reversed.
