Speaking about the roles he has portrayed so far, Baiju remarked that he has never been offered characters that required extensive preparation. “The role played by Dileep in Chanthupottu is an example of a character that demands preparation. I haven’t had the chance to do anything like that yet. Preparation is only needed for such challenging roles; otherwise, I just have to behave naturally,” he said.
On a lighter note, Baiju said, “I will not attend the wedding of anyone’s daughter who didn’t come to my daughter’s wedding”. He clarified that this wasn’t out of spite. “I hold no grudges or quarrels with anyone but can’t I make that choice? I don’t intentionally create controversies—they just happen. It’s fate; whatever is meant to happen will happen.”
When asked about his opinion on the younger generation, Baiju offered a tongue-in-cheek critique. “I have no strong opinion, but none of them sleep at night. They’re generally lazy. For them, life without Instagram and WhatsApp doesn’t exist—that’s their whole world.”
Baiju’s latest film, Njan Kandatha Saare, directed by Varun G. Panicker is set to release soon. Indrajith Sukumaran plays the lead, with Marina Michael as the female protagonist. The ensemble cast includes Anoop Menon, Sudhir Karamana, Alencier, Sabumon Abdusamad, Sampath Ram, Jibin Gopinath, Dhanvantari, Balaji Sharma, Surya Rajesh and Mallika Sukumaran. The film is written by Arun Karimuttam, with music composed by Rahul Raj, cinematography by Prashanth Krishna and editing by M.S. Ayyappan Nair.
