PALAKKAD: The Vande Bharat Express train from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram was halted midway due to a technical fault. The train has been stopped near Shornur Bridge for some time now. Railway responded that the error would be resolved and the journey would resume soon. Just minutes after leaving Shornur station, the loco pilots sensed the fault and halted the vehicle near the bridge.

The train that was supposed to reach Thrissur station at 6.11 pm has been held up for a long time now. The fault was found in the train's battery. Vande Bharat has in-house technical experts to resolve such faults. However, the team failed to clear the issue and now attempts are being made to take the train back to Shornur station. It was decided to tow the train using a lock. After bringing the train to Shornur station, the move is to check the fault in detail.

Vande Bharat train has an automated door system and they cannot be opened at will. The train has been at a halt for the last one and half-hour and there is no guarantee how long the battery power supply will last. There is no dearth of food and drinks but the long delay is now taking a toll on senior citizens and children inside the cabin.

Only after the train reaches Shornur that a decision will be made regarding passengers. There is ambiguity on whether the passengers will be shifted to another train from Shornur. More details are awaited.
