NEW DELHI: Congress leader Shashi Tharoor MP has reacted to the circulation of pictures of him lying in bed with a bandage on his leg. Tharoor criticized that pictures from two years ago are circulating on social media and it is an attempt for distraction.
'When the usual troll factory is reduced to circulating a two year old picture of mine with a sprain led foot, accompanied by picayune comments, one realises how desperate they are for a distraction!" - Tharoor wrote on social media. Pictures shared by Tharoor himself on December 16, 2022 are now circulating again.
"For all those expressing concern about my well-being, I am pleased to say that not only is my leg alright, but I have been attending parliament daily and spoke in the debate on the national disaster management bill yesterday," Tharoor added.
Tharoor suffered a leg injury in 2022 while participating in the winter session. While going down the stairs, he tripped and sprained his leg. It was Tharoor himself who shared the pictures of him on the hospital bed.
Tharoor had received trolls last August too, for the post he shared in connection with the Wayanad disaster. Sharing the visit, Tharoor described it as 'memorable day in Wayanad'. This caption received a lot of trolls later. Tharoor replied to the trolls that memorable means something likely to be remembered because it is "unforgettable."
