IDUKKI: The wild elephant Padayappa turned violent at a serial shooting site in Munnar. In a fit of rage, it damaged vehicles of the shooting team in the place. The elephant was noticed when the team was returning after the shoot. Two cars and a bike suffered damages in the elephant’s attack. Padayappa was seen coming towards more than 20 vehicles returning after the serial shooting in Silent Valley.

The incident happened near Kuttiyar Valley on the Silent Valley Road. A major accident was averted as people in the vehicles fled to safety. The forest guards led by forest department’s RRT deputy ranger reached the spot following the incident and chased the elephant to the forests. The elephant turning violent is a great cause of concern amongst the travellers and people in the area.

A few days ago, Padayappa reached the residential area of Munnar again. Padayappa entered the Goodarvila Estate and had extensively destroyed the crops. After the people created a commotion, Padayappa moved to the tea plantation and reached the road between the Goodarvila Estate and Nettimudi Estate in the morning. After staying here for a long time, it returned to the plantation.
