Biker scheduled to fly abroad day after tomorrow dies after falling into pit dug for roadside culvert

IDUKKI: A biker died after falling into a pit on the road. The accident happened at around 11 pm Monday night at Muthalakodam in Thodupuzha, Idukki. The dead is Jayce Benny (27) of Muthalakodam. The accident was after he fell into the pit dug to construct a culvert.

The hole was left uncovered for a month. The accident happened after his bike lost control and fell into the deep pit. Though he was rushed to the hospital, his life could not be saved. He died at a time when he was scheduled to fly abroad day after tomorrow.

The locals came forward protesting the incident. Locals said that despite their long-standing demand to cover the pit, the authorities did not pay heed to it.
