‘Jayathilak and Gopalakrishnan should be suspended’; N Prasanth sends legal notice to three including chief secretary

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: N Prasanth IAS has sent a legal notice to Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan, Additional Chief Secretary A Jayathilak and industries director K Gopalakrishnan. The notice demands that Jayathilak and Gopalakrishnan be suspended immediately to prevent further destruction of evidence and that they should apologize publicly.

The notice said Jayathilak and others have repeatedly tampered with government documents and that no action has been taken despite informing the chief secretary about this. A detailed investigation into the incident has also been demanded. Prasanth plans to take legal action if there is no response.

The notice has been sent through advocate Raghul Sudheesh. The notice mentions serious irregularities such as forgery of documents, forgery, tampering with official documents and criminal conspiracy. It is alleged that the investigation report prepared by A Jayathilak, alleging missing files and attendance irregularities during his time as the founding CEO of Unnat, was intended to defame Prasanth. Jayathilak prepared the report based on two letters. Prasanth alleged that these letters were fabricated and uploaded to the government's e-office system.

The Director General of Police has earlier charged Gopalakrishnan with destroying evidence and unnecessary interference in the WhatsApp group controversy. The notice also said the government has not taken any action against Gopalakrishnan for filing a false and misleading complaint by the police in this matter.
