HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made a no-holds-barred attack on film star Allu Arjun over the death of a woman and her child in the horrendous stampede during ‘Pushpa’ movie screening. On the day of the incident, despite being denied permission by the police, Allu Arjun reached the theatre resulting in the crowd going berserk.
CM Reddy severely criticized Allu for not showing the courtesy to come out of the theatre even after learning about the stampede incident. AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi raised the issue in the Assembly which forced CM Reddy to join the bandwagon in criticizing Allu Arjun.
On the 4th of December, the theatre management sent a letter to the police demanding security following the scheduled visit of stars including Allu Arjun. However, the police rejected the request citing difficulties in managing the crowd.
“Having premonition, the police tried to reach Allu Arjun but the theatre management refused entry. However, the officers managed to reach Allu and apprise him of the danger. The officers even asked Allu to leave the area immediately but the actor didn’t flinch. Soon a senior police officer reached the spot and threatened to take Allu to the police station, which made the actor drop his earlier stance. Even while being taken outside the premises in police protection, Allu was waving at his fans. What sort of man he has become?” said Revanth Reddy.
“I am a law-abiding citizen. I have not been given any such instructions.” Allu responded.
