Woman dies after shawl gets entangled around neck

KOZHIKODE: A woman died after her shawl got entangled around her neck while she was on a scooter. The accident happened last night at Puthuppadi in Kozhikode. The dead is Sudha, wife of K K Vijayan of Kalladikunnumal in West Kaithappayil.


A youth of Kozhikode also met with a tragic end in an accident that happened at Edayar on Saturday. The youth undergoing treatment died after his bike hit the back of a lorry parked on the roadside near the industrial area. The dead Adarsh (23), son of Satheesan of Kozhikode, was an employee of Seamak Equipment. The accident occurred at around 9:30 pm on Saturday when the bike hit the back of a rice lorry parked on the side of the road near the Muppattadam Muthukad temple.


Akhil Aji, a resident of Nedumangad in Thiruvananthapuram, who was pillion riding, was also injured. Both were immediately taken to Aster Medcity, but Adarsh died on Sunday night. The body was handed over to his relatives after postmortem. Adarsh has been a technical employee at Edayar Seamak Equipment, which manufactures ice cream making machines, for about two and a half years.


A biker was injured after being run over by a wild boar at Vellikulangara in Vadakara. The dead is Nirshad (35) of Onchiyam. The accident took place around 1:30 am on Saturday while he was returning home on his bike after work from the canteen at Vadakara Asha Hospital. Nirshad, who fell from the bike, underwent surgery after breaking both his shoulder blades.
