KOCHI: In a shocking incident, two pythons were captured while cleaning the compound of a temple in Ernakulam. The incident took place in Tirunettur Mahadeva Temple in Ernakulam. The snakes were spotted while the temple compound was being cleaned as part of the upcoming temple festival. The snakes were first spotted by the youths who were cleaning the grass-filled area near the pond using a JCB.

One of the snakes was captured by the youths, while the second snake managed to slither away into the undergrowth. Following this, snake catchers were called, and they successfully captured the elusive reptile. The snakes will be handed over to the Forest Department officials. This species of snake is commonly found in hilly areas. Although they are non-venomous, they are capable of attacking humans if provoked.
