NEW DELHI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is the richest chief minister in the country, according to Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). Naidu has assets worth Rs 931 crore. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is the poorest with assets worth Rs 15 lakh and third poorest is Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan with assets of only Rs 1.18 crore.
The total assets of all the chief ministers in the country are Rs 1,630 crore. The average is Rs 52.59 crore for each chief minister. Arunachal Pradesh’s Pema Khandu is the second richest chief minister. Khandu's total assets are Rs 332 crore. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is the third on the list with assets of Rs 51 crore.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is the second poorest with assets of Rs 55 lakh and Pinarayi Vijayan is the third poorest with Rs 1.18 crore.
The average per capita net national income (NNI) in 2023-24 is Rs 1.85 lakh. The average income of a chief minister is Rs 13.64 lakh. This is about 7.3 times the national average.
