KOLLAM: The court has acquitted all the accused in the Punalur fake note case. The complaint was filed with the police after a person who had come to drink at Kumar Palace Bar in Punalur in 2019 found the Rs 2000 note give to be fake.An investigation conducted following that led to the seizure of fake notes worth Rs 10 lakh. The police team seized fake notes worth Rs 8.25 lakh from the houses of the second and fifth accused in the case.
The police team recovered fake notes from the bedroom of the house of the accused. The police found that the accused had been making and exchanging fake notes with the aim of making excessive financial profits. After printing the fake notes, they found trusted people and conducted transactions through them.
The fake notes were delivered to the bus stand in Punalur in the accused's own vehicles for exchange. The police also said that a car and a scooter were used for this. Prominent lawyer Afzal Khan appeared in court for second, third and fifth accused in the case. Additional District Judge P N Vinod ordered the acquittal of the accused.
