Attack under influence of alcohol; Ward member stabbed in Idukki

IDUKKI: A ward member sustained injuries after being stabbed by a youth who was under the influence of alcohol. Bibin Joseph, the ward member from the 8th ward of Mankulam panchayat, has been admitted to hospital. The attack occurred yesterday evening in Mankulam town. Bibin was stabbed by a youth named Binoy, who hails from Mankulam. The Munnar police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.

The other day, a youth, who was under the influence of alcohol, was stabbed to death by a sixteen-year-old boy in Thrissur city. The deceased is Thrissur native Paliyam native Livin. The incident took place near Palace Road. The sixteen-year-old told the police that he stabbed Livin in retaliation after Livin attacked him under the influence of alcohol.

The accused school students were walking across the ground with two girls. Upon seeing them walking with the girls in the dark, Livin questioned them, leading to an argument. During the altercation, one of the students reportedly took out a knife he was carrying and stabbed Livin, according to the police. The police stated that Livin died from a single stab wound, which was inflicted on his chest. Although he was rushed to the nearby district hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. A 14-year-old boy was also arrested in connection with the incident.
