KOLLAM: SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellappally Natesan said that the subsidiary organizations of Yogam, including the youth movement and women's groups, should be strengthened. He was inaugurating the regional meeting of office bearers organized by the union in Kollam ahead of the implementation of the decisions taken at the Mysore camp of Yogam.

“The youth movement is currently crushed. Hence we are forced to change the leaders. From the branch level, individuals who are connected to the people should be brought in as leaders of the youth movement. Under the leadership of women's groups, many unions have installed people of their choice. They are of no use. The copy of the identity card of the voters of Yogam election should be collected and forwarded expeditiously.

The General Secretary alleged that some swamis of Sivagiri were trying to destroy SNDP Yogam. “Some misbehave with union branch office bearers who go to Sivagiri. SNDP Yogam Union leaders were not given due consideration in Sivagiri pilgrimage gatherings. Calling the members of Yogam's Vedic Sangha when Gurudeva Pratishtha is done in the branches would be enough. The strength of SNDP Yogam is behind the growth of Sivagiri," he pointed out. “Thousands of pilgrims who came by foot were brought to the pilgrimage under the leadership of unions. Were the Swamis able to bring anyone from a different religion as a pilgrim to Sivagiri, the epicentre of secularism?,” asked Vellappally. "We go to Velankanni. Sivagiri is our spiritual centre. How many institutions did Karunakara Guru start after leaving Sivagiri? The swamis of Sivagiri could not even start an educational institution of their own," said Vellappally.

"When Sukumaran Nair said that Ramesh Chennithala was the son of NSS, it became clear that they have a father and son relationship. What all ruckus would have happened if I had said the same," Vellappalli asked. "There is no one to speak for us. We must mobilize power in local institutions and make our people win."

Yogam Councilor P Sundaran presided. SNDP Yogam Vice President Tushar Vellappally have the welcome speech. Yogam counselors Pachail Sandeep and Vipinraj spoke. Union officials from Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Alappuzha districts participated in the meeting.
