Just fish, but costs crores; price of tuna shocks the world  

Tuna is one of the most familiar fish in the world. It is a fish that everyone likes to eat both fried and curried. Common people buy this fish regularly as there is no severe price hike. However, a piece of news about tuna from Japan will shock everyone. A tuna fish put for auction has fetched 1.3 million dollars (11 crore Indian rupees). This giant tuna weighs 276 kg.

The giant tuna was auctioned at the fish market in Tokyo, the capital of Japan. This is the second-highest price for a single tuna at an auction at Tokyo's New Year's fish market. Onodera Hotel Group acquired this tuna fish for 11 crore rupees. This price has been obtained for the fish belonging to the bluefin tuna category.

Since 2020, the Onodera Hotel Group has been winning the auctions for high-priced tuna fish. Last year, the group had bought tuna from the same fish market in Tokyo at a cost of Rs 6.2 crore. The tuna auctioned in the Tokyo market in 2019 had weighed 278 kg. That fish was auctioned for Rs 18.19 crore. Kiyoshi Kimura, the owner of Sushi Zanmai chain of restaurants, won the tuna fish in the auction that day.
