KOCHI: Boby Chemmanur is not willing to come out of the jail despite being granted bail in the sexual abuse case filed against him by actress Honey Rose. It is heard that he is not willing to cooperate even after the lawyers reached Kakkanad district jail with the bail order. The high court released the bail order at 3:30 pm on Tuesday. It is reported that the lawyers reached the jail with the order, but did not enter inside.
There are also reports that Boby has informed his lawyers that he will not sign the bond today as per the bail order. It is also heard that the jail authorities have informed that the time limit has passed since the release order has not arrived. The prosecution is likely to inform the high court on Boby's action on Wednesday.
15 remand prisoners unable able to pay the bail amount are with him. They will be provided with bail money and lawyers. It is indicated that Boby will then get out with them today.
The high court observed that body shaming is not acceptable and granted him bail with strict conditions. Boby has been in the Kakkanad district jail for six days in the case of sexually abusing Honey Rose.
Justice P V Kunhikrishnan yesterday assessed that the charges against Boby are prima facie valid. He also said that he used double entendre words and his remarks were derogatory, which any Malayali would understand. The bail was granted considering that the charges were for offences punishable by imprisonment of less than seven years. The charges were for offences punishable by imprisonment of up to three years.
