MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was stabbed by an intruder, has been shifted from the ICU. Doctors said that he is recuperating well. Saif is undergoing treatment at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. The actor was made to walk in the morning.
Saif was stabbed six times including in his neck and spine. He was attacked Thursday morning at 2.30 am at his flat in Bandra. A 2.5-inch piece of the blade was removed from his spine after the long surgery. It is reported that if the stab wound had been two millimeters deeper, Saif's condition would have been very serious.
However, the police said the person detained by the police is not the accused in the case of attacking Saif. A video footage of a person being taken to the Bandra police station had earlier gone viral. The police have clarified this. Two people, including the carpenter who had taken a contract for carpentry work at Saif's house and his assistant, are presently in police custody. An investigation is underway to determine whether they were involved in the attack and how the crime was committed. Police said the intruder, who knew the house well, received help from inside the house. Saif was stabbed during a fight with the intruder. The actor’s eldest son Ibrahim took the actor to the hospital in an auto.
