PALAKKAD: Nenmara double murder case accused Chenthamara said he wants to be punished as soon as possible. He told the magistrate to imprison him for 100 years. The accused told the court that he did everything alone.
Chenthamara said that he cannot show his face in front of his daughter and son-in-law. He told the magistrate that his daughter is an engineer and his son-in-law is in the crime branch. Chenthamara has been remanded until the 12th of next month. He will be taken to Alathur jail soon.
The remand report states that the murder was committed out of old enmity and that the accused has no remorse. The accused is happy that the murder was carried out properly. The brutal murders were carried out with proper planning. The investigating officers informed the court that Chenthamara would pose a threat to an entire area if he gets out.
Chenthamara, who was jailed for murdering his neighbour Sajitha, hacked to death Sajitha's husband Sudhakaran and Sudhakaran's mother Lakshmi at around 9.15 am on Monday when he was released on bail. He then went into hiding.
Chenthamara was arrested from Pothundi last night after a joint search by the police and locals. 125 policemen, led by the Alathur DySP, had started a search in teams in the entire area since morning. The fire brigade had checked the water bodies on suspicion of suicide. A cadaver dog was also used for the search. Chenthamara was finally found by night.
