THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A circle inspector of Telecommunications City Office, who had gone for training for VIP special duty, was found hanging at his home yesterday. His mother has now come forward levelling serious allegations against his senior officers. She alleged that her son committed suicide out of work pressure. The cop has been identified as Jaison Alex (48) of Bethel House, Keerikuzhi, Thundathil in Chenkottukonam.
‘The pressure was in the name of a Rs 6 crore project related to telecommunications in Thiruvananthapuram. He was also a member of the committee to implement the project. Jaison refused to sign the documents citing issues in the project. Due to this, he was under pressure from his seniors. Jaison, who had gone for work at 5.30 in the morning, returned at 10 am and this is mysterious. He had taken his food while going for work,’ said his mother. His relatives also alleged that Jaison was under severe mental stress for days.
After returning from duty at 11.30 pm on Thursday, Jaison had left his house in a bullet at 5 am for a special duty of a VIP visit. Neighbors said that he returned at 10 am. At this time, his wife and children were not at home. Not seeing him for duty, the CCTV was examined and then found him leaving on a bike. When two cops reached his house at 12 pm, they found him hanging from the fan in the hall.
The front door was not locked. Senior police officers, police fingerprint department and forensic experts were there. His wife Somi is a teacher at 'Our Lady of Mercy' School in Puthucurichy. His children are Anmi Jaison and Ansi Jaison, students of Mary Nilayam School in Pongumoodu. He is the son of late Alexander of Kundara in Kollam and mother Jamma, a retired physical education teacher of Vimala Hridaya School in Pattathanam. Jaison had stayed in many rented houses in the capital city. His mother had bought him a new house in Anandeswaram two years ago. Jilja Alex, Jeeja Alex and Juna Alex are his siblings.
