THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An AC tourist train will begin its journey from Thiruvananthapuram Central to Kashmir at 11 am on 2nd April, in collaboration with Indian Railways. There is a 33 percent subsidy available for this offered by the Indian Railway Ministry. The fare for two weeks, including accommodation and food, is Rs. 49,900. This is a special service for senior citizens only, said Vignesh, Director of South Star Rail, in a press conference.
Besides Kashmir, the journey also covers the cities of Agra, Delhi, and Amritsar. A variety of South Indian dishes will be available for the tourists throughout the journey. There are a total of 600 seats for this special tourist train. There will be a digital TV facility indicating and informing the different routes and their attractions inside the coach. The coaches will be fitted with CCTV cameras. There will be a separate tour manager, security guard, housekeeper, and safety officer for each coach.
