‘Harassed after tightening rope around her neck, Vishnuja’s WhatsApp in Prabhin’s phone’; reveals friend

MALAPPURAM: A friend of Vishnuja, who committed suicide at her husband Prabhin’s house in Elankur, has come forward with some crucial revelations. He said Prabhin handled Vishnuja’s (25) phone. He also said Prabhin harassed her brutally.

‘Prabhin used to harass her constantly. He had tightened a rope around her neck. He used to torture Vishnuja mentally and physically. When she realized that she couldn't tolerate it anymore, she started telling me everything. I had asked to return to her own house. She should have gone home. Vishnuja's WhatsApp was connected to Prabhin’s phone. She wasn’t able to reveal anything through WhatsApp. We used to talk through Telegram without his knowledge. Prabhin used to send messages from her phone. He also used to force us to talk after putting the phone on speaker.

Vishnuja was found hanging last Thursday. She was bleeding from both her hands. Her family had alleged that Prabhin had constantly criticized her daughter for the less dowry given, for her complexion, for not having a job and for her figure. The Manjeri police had arrested him yesterday on the complaint of her family. He has been charged with domestic violence and abetment to suicide. He will be produced in the court today.
