'Is this generation alien to love?'; Family releases Instagram video of classmates humiliating Mihir's death

KOCHI: Weeks after the death of school student Mihir in Tripunithura, his mother in an Instagram post revealed the vicious doings of Mihir’s classmates, even after knowing about his death.

Mihir jumped from the 26th floor of his apartment to death after facing torture and ragging from his schoolmates. The news created an outrage after Mihir’s mother Rajna in a social media post, published certain evidence in the form of chat screenshots between students, which she believes pushed her son to death.

Rajna PM:

“After Mihir’s death, my husband skimmed through Mihir’s social media accounts. It was then the inhumane brutality came to light. Mihir was subjected to brutal torture by a gang inside the school bus and also at school. They demeaned him for his skin colour and called him ‘Poopyhead’ only after forcing his head inside a toilet and then flushing.

How can children become so cruel? Is this generation alien to love? My son’s decision to end his life now seems like a natural conclusion. These students are devoid of any humanity.

I will continue my fight until Mihir gets justice.”

Rajna also shared an Instagram video, purported to be that of Mihir’s classmates. The video is said to have been uploaded on Instagram after Mihir’s death.

The content of the video was brutal and lacked sanguinity. It showed an animated character jumping off from a cliff with the caption ‘ Mihir on his way to jump off from the 26th floor after getting called a poopyhead’.
