PALAKKAD: Chenthamara, the accused in the Nenmara double murder case, admitted to committing the murders and stated that he felt no remorse. He made this statement when he was brought to the crime scene for evidence collection.
"I have no sense of guilt. They (the victims) destroyed my family. Don't you know that? I built the house in 2010, but I couldn’t even live in it. My daughter is an engineer. I couldn’t afford to educate her," Chenthamara said. He showed no signs of regret while responding to the media. The police continued their evidence collection with Chenthamara on the second day as well.
The victims, Sudhakaran (56) and his mother Lakshmi (78), were residents of the Boyan Colony in Pothundy, Nenmara, Palakkad. Chenthamara murdered them brutally, citing personal grudges as his motive. He also told the police that he had bought the knife used in the crime from Agro Equips in Elavanchery. Evidence was gathered from this location today.
While being questioned during the evidence collection, Chenthamara expressed his deep affection for his daughter and asked the police to ensure the house was transferred to her. He also mentioned that he had planned to kill another person as well. According to him, his neighbour Pushpa was the main reason for the breakdown of his family, but he claimed that Pushpa had escaped. After the evidence collection, the police will present the accused in court and file a charge sheet in the case soon.
