THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Cricket Association turned against former cricketer Sreesanth for his tacit support of Indian cricket player Sanju Samson, who is now at odds with KCA. The notice states that Sreesanth, as the co-owner of the Kollam Sailors team in the Kerala Cricket League (KCL), violated the Code of Conduct. To avoid disciplinary action, Sreesanth must give a response to KCA within seven days.
Earlier, in an interview, Sreesanth requested KCA to not turn against Sanju and support the player to establish his place in the Indian team. After this response went viral, KCA issued a show-cause notice to the player. Sree has a contract with KCA as the co-owner of the KCL team.
Earlier, Sanju was not considered for the Vijay Hazare Trophy squad after missing the camp organized by KCA for the tournament. For not participating in the tournament, Sanju was opted out of the Indian team for the Champions Trophy. There was a huge uproar on social media against KCA for not allowing Sanju a place in the Vijay Hazare trophy which eventually proved costly.
Sanju was omitted from the squad, at a time when he was at the zenith of his form scoring three centuries for the Indian team.
