TEHRAN: Yet another naked protest has taken place in Iran against the country's dress code for women. The protest took place in Mashhad, the second-largest city in Iran, on top of a police vehicle. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
The video begins with a young woman standing on the bonnet of a police vehicle, challenging the police officers. She can then be seen writing on the windshield. Despite the officers' best efforts to get the woman off the vehicle, she did not comply. At one point, a police officer entered the vehicle to take out a weapon. However, the woman continued her protest without any hesitation. Since the woman was standing without her clothes on, the police did not arrest her. It remains unclear what happened to her afterwards. The video went viral, and many people came out supporting the young woman.
There had previously been naked protests against the dress code laws for women in Iran. A female student from Tehran University protested against the dress code law of the morality police by arriving at the campus wearing only underwear. The images of her protest spread widely on social media and sparked global discussion. Reports later indicated that the young woman was arrested and imprisoned by the police.
