NEW DELHI: Saffron wave has crumbled down the bulwarks set by AAP in the national capital. It is more than three hours since the counting began and expect no more change in the trends. Along with Delhi, the counting of votes is also going on in Uttar Pradesh's Milkipur and Tamil Nadu's Erode assembly constituencies.

Elections were held in Milkipur after Samajwadi Party's Awadhesh Prasad won the Lok Sabha seat and relinquished his MLA position. Awadhesh Prasad became the MLA in 2022 by defeating Baba Gorakhnath, the sitting MLA of BJP. Milkipur constituency has a heavy influence on the political landscape of Uttar Pradesh. This assembly constituency is in Ayodhya district where the Ram Temple is located. Although ten candidates are in the fray, the main contest is between the Samajwadi Party and the BJP. According to the latest information, the BJP candidate is leading here.

In Tamil Nadu, after the death of Congress MLA EVKS Elangovan, the ground was set for elections in Erode. Elangovan died on December 14. According to the results, the DMK candidate is leading here.
