'This is what happened to actor who spread news that Mohanlal was going to marry girl from royal family'

Film journalist Pallissery stated that Mohanlal keeps away those who need to be kept at a distance. He was speaking in an interview given to a media outlet. He also revealed an old incident about a news report concerning Mohanlal.

"Several years ago, a news report came out claiming that Mohanlal's marriage was fixed with a princess from a royal family. This happened a long time ago. I said it wasn’t true. But the media head insisted that the news be published. The report was published, and I had to take full responsibility for it.

After that, Lal (Mohanlal) called me and was furious. He told me, ‘You can write whatever you want about me. But this is about a woman who is not from the film industry. You will have to pay a heavy price for this. From now on, I won’t give any advertisements for my movies to your publication. You are also not allowed to take my photographs,’ he said.

After some time, I went to the shooting location of a film directed by Thampi Kannanthanam. It was in Thiruvananthapuram. I went there. Lal saw me and said, ‘You need not make money by taking my photos. You are not allowed to take my pictures.’ In the same tone, I replied, ‘Who said I want to take Mohanlal’s photos? We won’t feature him on our cover for six months.’

During the shooting of Kadathanadan Ambadi, director Priyadarshan and his team called me. Then Haneefa (actor Cochin Haneefa) stepped in and said, ‘Let’s settle this.’ Haneefa was like a brother to me. I told him, ‘How can I settle this? If I reveal the name, Lal will take revenge, and I know that.’ Eventually, Lal assured me that he wouldn't tell anyone else. So, I disclosed the name. Upon hearing it, Lal remarked, 'I had a feeling it was him. But even so, we shouldn't make accusations based on assumptions.' After that, that actor didn't appear in Lal’s films for quite some time.
