NEW DELHI: Shashi Tharoor MP has been invited to a Startup Festival organized by the DYFI. The leaders reached Delhi and invited the MP for the function. Tharoor conveyed his best wishes for the event.
Tharoor was invited to the event to be held in Thiruvananthapuram on March 1 and 2. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will be inaugurating the function. The MP is unlikely to attend the event. It is reported that he has to attend other events on these days.
Tharoor's article praising the industrial development of Kerala had courted a controversy. Tharoor pointed the general progress made by the state, the best progress in startups in the world, and the first position in the investment-friendly sector in the article written in the national media. This displeased the Congress leaders.
Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge and Rahul Gandhi held discussions with Tharoor, who expressed his public opinion contrary to the party's stance in Delhi the other day. Tharoor was directed to refrain from taking steps putting the party in a crisis. The discussions were held without the organization's general secretary K C Venugopal. Following this, DYFI leaders invited Tharoor to the event.
