KOZHIKODE: According to reports, the father of the main accused in the Thamarassery Shahbaz murder will be made an accused in the case. The police findings confirmed that the main accused’s father provided his son with a nunchuk even after knowing the heinous plan to attack 15-year-old Shahbaz. Due to this, the police are planning to charge a case against him, too.

This person is a history sheeter with criminal cases filed against him at the Thamarassery police station. Rural SP KE Baiju, who is supervising the investigation, said the police will investigate further to know the direct involvement of the person in the clash that took the life of Shahbaz. A background check will be conducted to see if he has had any close connection with criminal groups.

In the report, it was mentioned that the main accused, a martial arts expert, attacked Shahbaz with a nunchuk, which resulted in grave injuries. The statement of those friends who brought Shahbaz home after the fight will be taken to know the possible involvement of adults in the clash.

There was widespread protest when the five accused were brought to Vellimadukunnu for writing their SSLC examination. The examination was conducted at a special center at the observation home. Workers of KSU, MSF and Youth Congress have been stationed here since six in the morning. Some of the protesters jumped over the wall and entered the juvenile home. The organizations said that the protest would continue in the coming days. The examination was conducted under strong police guard.

Shahbaz’s grieving father, Iqbal, came down against the order allowing the accused to attend the examination.

“Students who cheat in exams are shown the door and not allowed to appear for exams while those who committed a grave murder is being allowed to write exams with polcie protection. We are sending a wrong message to society. I am not sure if my son will get justice. The case is moving in such a trajectory, favoring the culprits,” said Iqbal.
