'Slap him on his face'; school student beaten by group of students in Wayanad

KALPETTA: It has been alleged that a school student was assaulted by a group of students in Ancham Mile in Mananthavady, Wayanad. Video footage has emerged showing five students beating another student near the steps of a building. The video, recorded some days ago, has only now come to light.

In the video, the student recording the incident can be heard asking his friends to slap the boy on his face. The video shows the group slapping the boy and grabbing his neck. The assailants can be heard asking the victim, "Will you touch our boys again?" After the assault, one of the students requests them to stop, and the group disperses. The Panamaram police have initiated an investigation based on the incident.

Meanwhile, a similar incident of student assault in Malappuram has sparked allegations that the police failed to take action despite a complaint. The incident occurred on August 17 in Theyyala, Tanur. A Class 10 student from Theyyala, SSMHSS School, was reportedly assaulted by three students from Vellachal CPHSS School, according to the complaint filed with the police.

The student was allegedly questioned and forced to sing a song as part of the assault. Footage of the incident has also come out. Despite submitting this footage to the Tanur police, no action has been taken against the perpetrators, according to the complaint.
