Class 10 student found hanging in home in Thiruvananthapuram

KALLAMBALAM: A 10th-standard CBSE girl student was found hanging at her home in Navaikulam on Wednesday. Greeshma (16), the only daughter of late Girish and Navaikulam Panchayat Clerk Sindhu of Pulimootil house in Kannamkonam, died in the incident.

The incident happened around 2 pm on Wednesday. Only Grandmother Saraswathy was at home with Greeshma. Hearing the grandmother's screams, the locals rushed to the spot and barged into the room to find the girl hanging. Greeshma's neck was lassoed by a shawl and hanging from a fan. She was taken to the Parippally Medical College Hospital, but her life could not be saved. Kallambalam police registered a case of unnatural death.

After the postmortem, the body will be cremated on the house premises on Thursday afternoon. Greeshma was a student of Mother India School, Kadampattukonam. The reason for suicide is not clear.
