External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is one of the best Union Ministers in India. He became the Union Minister after retiring as the Secretary of the Department of External Affairs. Jaishankar is the sole selection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Not only did he not make any effort to become a minister, but he, along with others, came to know about it the day before he became a minister. After becoming a minister, Jaishankar intervened in diplomatic matters and expressed his opinions openly like a seasoned political leader. When asked if any of the foreign ministers of the past could speak so fearlessly, Jaishankar had clarified that it was not the fault of those who held those positions, but that India's position has now risen to the forefront in the world and has inspired him to speak out with courage, honesty, and sincerity.
Jaishankar had succeeded in pressuring the respective countries through their embassies to take strong action against separatists who are questioning India's sovereignty residing in foreign countries. It was during Jaishankar's tenure as Foreign Minister that he was able to prevent fundamentalist forces operating in England and Canada and Khalistan militants from promoting and funding subversive activities in India. Some of these individuals got killed by unknown people while Jaishankar was in charge. It is not surprising that this naturally turned Jaishankar into an enemy in their eyes. These people are abusing the civil liberties that England and Canada allow. In this light we should look at the incident in London where Khalistan supporters broke through Jaishankar's security cordon and protested.
After attending a discussion at Chatham House in London, Khalistan supporters came in front of Jaishankar's car, shouted slogans, and tore the tricolour flag. This incident was primarily caused by the lapses of the security and intelligence authorities in Britain. Their sincerity can only be judged on the basis of what action they take against the attackers. This should not have happened and could have been avoided. The central government has asked the UK government to take strong action in the incident where Khalistan supporters protested by breaking the security cordon. The Union Ministry of External Affairs has clarified that this incident shows the indifference towards such threats.
India has a special bilateral relationship with all other countries except its neighbouring countries, China and Pakistan. India is a country that always stands for world peace in word and deed. India's trade and investment relations with many countries are also flourishing day by day. India is becoming one of the largest financial powers in the world. This is intolerable that separatist groups are coming together to commit evil acts against India with the indirect help of enemy countries. England and Canada should be ready to take strong action against Khalistan terrorists.
