DUBAI: India has claimed the ICC Champions Trophy by defeating New Zealand in the final in Dubai. With Jadeja hitting the winning runs, India triumphed in the tournament without losing a single match. Amid the celebrations, star player Virat Kohli's remarks are now being widely discussed, particularly with retirement speculations surrounding his future in One Day Internationals.
"When you leave, you want to leave the team in a better place, I feel we've a squad that's ready to take on the world for the next eight years," Kohli said.
"After a tough Australian tour, we were eager to bounce back. We were hoping to win a big tournament. So, to win the Champions Trophy is amazing. The team has many talented players. We (senior players) are happy to help them. We share our experiences with them and that's what makes the Indian team so strong," Kohli said. He also expressed his desire to continue winning big tournaments and noted that the team's hard work is paying off.
Meanwhile, captain Rohit Sharma has also denied retirement rumors, stating that he has no plans beyond the present and is focused on the current moment.
