NEW DELHI: Indian Railways is one of the largest rail networks in the world. Therefore, Indian Railways is also one of the largest employers in the country. Since it is an enterprise that is so close to the people, the public is always interested in knowing about the affairs of Indian Railways and its employees.
Even getting a job in the railways is the dream of a large number of youth in the country. Job security and the benefits and status of a central government employment are the basis for this. People are aware of the salary scale of various workers in the railways. How much does a loco pilot who drives a train get per month is something that people are very curious to know.
Loco pilots get paid in two packages. In addition to the basic payment, a calculation is made based on how many kilometres a person has driven a train. This is called kilometre allowance or running allowance. When a beginner joins the Indian Railways, he gets a salary starting from Rs 35,000 per month.
A loco pilot, an express or top-level person, gets a salary of up to Rs 1.5 lakh, including total allowance and running allowance. A good part of this is the running allowance. For an office employee, taking leave does not reduce his monthly salary, but if a loco pilot takes leave, his running allowance in his salary will be reduced.
