Body of Malayali sanyasi found on railway track

THRISSUR: A Malayali who led a monastic life was found dead on the railway track. The dead is Sribin (38), also known as Brahmananda Giri. He left his home in Kunnamkulam six years ago to lead a monastic life.

The Telangana police informed the family about his demise. His relatives alleged that there is mystery in the death. Brahmananda Giri had called the priest at the temple near Kunnamkulam last Thursday. He had told the priest that a group was trying to harm him on the train while returning home.

The family has submitted a memorandum to BJP Mandal Committee National Executive Committee member P K Krishnadas, demanding an investigation into the death. Brahmananda Giri is the son of Srinivasan and Sundari Bhai of Kurumban house in West Mangad, Kunnamkulam.
