THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union minister of state Suresh Gopi visited the protesting ASHA workers near the secretariat this morning with his wife Radhika. Suresh Gopi was on his way to Attukal temple with his family when he dropped by the protesting site.
Suresh Gopi said that he intervened in ASHA workers' issue not as a BJP member or an MP, but as a social activist.
“You should learn from Sikkim and Andhra Pradesh. Good things will happen. I am not ready to blame the state government on the issue. It will take time. There is no money giving tree in our backyard to allot financial aid at the command. The issue was presented at the center without any political fuss. The result has already been witnessed,” said MoS Suresh Gopi.
Union Minister J.P. Nadda informed the Rajya Sabha yesterday that the National Health Mission has recommended increasing the financial benefits for ASHA workers.
