HYDERABAD: Women journalists who shared a video criticizing the government in Telangana have been arrested. Senior journalist Revathi Pogadadanda and her colleague Tanvi Yadav have been arrested. Both of them were detained from their residences at 5 am today. The video was shared on Revathi's YouTube channel Pulse TV.

The journalists shared a video on social media in which a farmer talks about the hardships they faced during the Congress government. A case was registered against the journalists on the complaint of a Youth Congress worker. The complaint alleges that the video defames Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

According to reports, Revathi was arrested after her house was cordoned off. Revathi's husband Chaitanya was also arrested. The police seized their mobile phones and laptops. The office of Pulse TV channel was locked and sealed.

BRS Working President KT Rama Rao criticized the early morning raids on houses and arrests of journalists. He accused the Telangana Police of being reminiscent of the Emergency.
